 Application of new type fastening and isolating clamps

 

Abstract: in view of the large size leakage parts or thinning,corrosion in a certain range of pipe defects,a technicial method is taken to prevent the pipe wall from losing stability and avoid sealant injected into the media system.

1. introduction:

Online leak sealing is a emergency rescue operation under the medium leakage condition of the process devices.The technological efficiency plays an important role in restraining the occurrence of malignant accidents and avoiding the waste of energy and resources. Its economic and social benefits are very significant.However, the sealing operation process involves different working conditions and complex leakage parts, especially for the leakage and seal operation in special conditions. It is necessary to make full use of the technical utility through comprehensive application of multidisciplinary knowledge.

 

Especially for the weak wall of leakage parts, or the large corrosion area or the small defect area of leak parts, the isolation clamps must be used for the sealing operation.In order to improve the operation time and make the process more operable, a new type of fastening and isolating clamp is recommended in this paper, which is aimed at the parts of bad working environment and inconvenient operation.

 

The "isolation" in online leak sealing technology means that,to avoid creating new sealing structure in the leakage area of equipment,the technical solution is to make a isolated structure between the sealants and the leakage parts,so that the sealants will not be injected into the medium system,and the injecting operation will not break the weak pipe wall.

 

 

2. traditional isolation method:

For the leakage parts that need isolation, the isolation cavity or occlusion isolation method is usually applied.

 

 

3. fastening type isolating clamp:

The design of the new fastening and isolated clamp structure is different from that of the ring cavity injection seal clamp design.Before operatin,a slot seal is inserted into the gap of the ring cavity and clamp groove.The operation process acts on the sealant by tightening the bolts of the ear plate, to improve the sealing specific pressure and sealing effect.

 

3.1.Technical features:

(1) the sealing process is simple and quick, which is suitable for working environment, such as high temperature, high pressure, toxic or harmful or inconvenient operation conditions.

(2). Improve the sealing time and the utilization rate of the sealing materials, and save the cost of the project.

(3). The force of the sealing material is equal, which is beneficial to achieve effective seal.

 

3.2.Operation method:

(1) Insert seals into the gaps and grooves between the clamp inner surface and sealing cavity.

(2) Install the clamp to cover the leak point and fasten the bolt to achieve effective sealing.

(3) In order to ensure the long-term stability of the sealing effect,inject sealants into the sealing cavity between the clamp and surface of leaking area.
